Valentines day is this Saturday! Are you in need of a last minute Valentines gift? You’re in luck! We are in two locations this Saturday. Goat milk soaps make a great gift.
This has been the week of figuring out what our spring and summer is going to look like. We’ve been applying to farmers markets. Our plan going into the year was to be at five markets throughout the week and so far we have applied to a total of five. I have one more that I am considering. I should have a better idea what our farmers market schedule will look like in a few weeks and I will update the “Where to Buy” section of the website! We are also applying to several late winter and spring festivals.
Kidding season will soon be here! Sonia is due first, in a little over 4 weeks! Ruth is next, followed by Hillary later in the month. Tina is not due until June (assuming she is pregnant, we only bred her a week and a half ago). We will be starting to slowly increase their feed over the next few weeks to help prepare them for milk production. They will also be getting their CDT booster shots.
This is the time of year that things really start to pick up around the farm! The days are getting longer, egg production is picking up, the countdown to kidding has started, and we are getting days that are at least somewhat warm! The winter funk is starting to thaw!
Over the next few weekends we will be in multiple locations… Meaning lots of chances to pick up Valentines gifts and lots of fun events to attend! This weekend, February 7th, we will be two places:

Oh my goodness it has been an amazing year. I am so proud of what we have accomplished with both of our businesses and I am incredibly grateful for our wonderful, loyal customers, who allow my husband and I to work together, build this farm, and live our dream. I cannot wait to see what 2015 has in store for us as we start our journey of both Kevin and I putting a full time effort into both of our businesses… It’s certainly going to be an adventure.

Most of our friends and family have known this was coming for a while, years actually, and we have discussed it with many customers, especially over the last few months, so for some of you this may not be a surprise, but now that everything has been made official we can announce it to everyone…
In about a month, on January 6th, Kevin will be leaving his job outside of the home to put a full time effort into our two small businesses with me. That means starting in 2015 The Freckled Farm Soap Company and Neilson-Hall Photography, will be our only sources of income. This is an enormous, and scary step for us, but we have spent years preparing for it, and both businesses have grown so much in the last year that they require full time attention from both of us. This has been the plan for a long time and we have actually reached our goal years ahead of schedule! In 2015 you can expect to find us in a lot more stores, and to see us at a lot more farmer’s markets and craft shows!
So, as we take this new step in our lives and businesses we thank your continued support.

Our November soap is coming a few days late this month. We are in the thick of the busy season with both of our businesses (the photography business and of course the soap business)… our “to do” lists are a mile long. I finally had a chance to photograph this month’s debut, so here we are…. I’m am excited to introduce the newest soap to our line…. Rosemary Mint
This soap has a more subtle mint scent than our wildly popular Peppermint Eucalyptus, paired with the earthly scent of rosemary. The rosemary and peppermint are perfectly balanced giving a nice robust fragrance.

Are you a fan of our Deep Sea Salt Scrub? Well, then you will love our new Deep Sea Goat Milk Soap! We have decided to make a soap to match each of our scrubs, so over the next few months, with the exception of the seasonal soaps, our new soaps will be a scent that you may already be familiar with.
