  • Best Soaps for Your Hair

Yes, you can use our soap on your hair! I wrote a blog post about it earlier this year (Here). It takes your hair a little while to adjust to the change in regiment, but once it does you then have an all natural alternative to commercial shampoos! The following are the soaps that we like to use:

    Coffee Goat Milk Soap

Our Coffee Goat Milk Soap has a PH that is great for hair. This is the bar I use! It is a great deodorizer and has helped control my wild and crazy waves.

  • Best Soap for Sensitive Skin

People with sensitive skin often have a hard time finding soaps that don’t irritate their skin. We know what this feels like first hand. Our daughter Bryce has sensitive skin. If we use the wrong thing on her, her skin will become irritated and break out in hives. We have always been careful with what we put on her and she’s never had an issue with any of our soaps or detergents. While we believe most people with sensitive skin should be fine using all of our soaps, if you have extremely sensitive skin and are looking for soap that is very gentle, the soaps highlighted in this post are for you!

    Castile Goat Milk Soap

Our Castile Goat Milk Soap is the most sensitive soap bar in our line. It’s made with four simple ingredients (raw goat milk, organic olive oil, organic coconut oil, organic sustainable palm oil). It has a soft silky lather and is gentle enough for the most sensitive skin. It can even be used on young children.

Our Honey Oatmeal Goat Milk Soap is another one of our sensitive skin bars. In addition to being sensitive this bar also has ground oatmeal throughout making it nice exfoliant.

  • What’s in our Soap Dish – July

I hope you have been enjoying the peek into our soap dish so far this year. You have seen how the changes in the weather have changed our soap choices, and now that summer is in full swing another change is here. What’s in our soap dish this July?

    Summer Goat Milk Soap

On the first day of summer we brought back our Summer Goat Milk Soap. I really love this one! I am always excited to see it come back! This is the perfect soap for summer skin was it is made with aloe and green tea.  This soap only has the light scent of the green tea and is free of any essential oils, so there is nothing to possibly irritate sunburnt skin further. I spend so much time out the in sun, and while I try to be good, I don’t always keep up with my sunscreen, so I use this soap all summer long. This is in no way an alternative to sunblock, but it at least helps comfort my skin if I get too much sun.

    Coffee Goat Milk Soap

This is the soap for those who work with their hands! Our Coffee Goat Milk Soap is a deodorizer that cleans away grease and dirt with ease! The coffee within the soap acts as a scent neutralizer while the coffee grounds act as a scrubbing agent for dirt and grease. Chefs are able to get rid garlic and onion scents. Gardeners will be able to wash away the deep down, ground in, dirt. Even the stuff that gets trapped in the creases of your hands. Mechanics and woodworkers can scrub away the grease and oils that other soaps just wash right over.

  • Best Soap for Repealing Bugs

During this time of year bugs are a nuisance! Flies are starting to come out, mosquitos are making their seasonal appearance, and it won’t be long until the gnats start to become a problem. It’s easy to reach for one of those bug sprays, many of which contain deet, but why not try something more natural? There are several essential oils that are said to help ward off bugs. So instead of reaching for the spray try using one of our soaps that contain these essential oils in the morning to help deter the bugs. While there is no guarantee that using the soap will prevent all mosquitos and other bugs from bothering you (if you’ve ever used the sprays you know this is true with those as well) it can at least could help.

Lemongrass Green Tea Goat Milk Soap

A recent study revealed that lemongrass essential oil has the ability to help discourage mosquitos as well as deet. It has a wonderful woody, slightly citrus, scent that humans love, but apparently mosquitos hate. This is our go to soap when we are spending a lot of time outside and the mosquitos are biting.

    Tea Tree Goat Milk Soap

I’m not one of those girls who normally has issues with bugs… but I hate ticks! Breckin got Lymes a few years ago and it was very scary. Now, in addition to nightly “tick checks” we do whatever we can to avoid ticks getting on us and the children. Tea tree essential oil is supposed to help repel ticks.

    Canine Shampoo Goat Milk Soap

During the buggy season don’t forget about your dog! They are bothered by fleas, ticks, and flies as well! Our Canine Shampoo Goat Milk Soap contains lavender, tea tree, and rosemary essential oils. All of these are supposed to repel bugs. Use this soap to wash your canine companion and maybe avoid using so many chemical pesticides on them. Do you want the benefit of all three of these essential oils as well? You can use our Canine Shampoo on yourself!

  • What’s in our Soap Dish – May

Which of our goat milk soaps will you find in our soap dish in May? Read on to find out!

    Coffee Goat Milk Soap

In May, Coffee is our go to soap! The garden is in bloom, plants are popping up all over the place, and we are spending hours a day with our hands in the dirt. The dirt gets into the cracks and crevasses of your hand and begins to stain your skin. Most soaps don’t do the job of getting your hands back to normal. They may help to the get surface dirt off and to moisturize, but in order to get that deep dirt out of the cracks of your hands you need something that’s nice and scrubby! That’s where our coffee soap comes in! It’s great for getting off dirt making it the perfect soap for gardeners.

Lemongrass Green Tea Goat Milk Soap

Mosquito season is here… unfortunately. They are awful to deal with and people often resort to putting chemical insect repellents on their skin to avoid being bitten. If you are trying to avoid this chemical exposure essentials oils like lemongrass might be an option for you! Lemongrass is a natural mosquito repellent, whether it is planted around your home or put on your skin in the essential oil form (never apply straight essential oils directly to your skin). Our Lemongrass Green Tea Goat Milk Soap is a great way to help deter mosquitos naturally. We use it a lot this time of year, as we spend most of our time outside.
